Ushers
serve as the first official person to welcome parishioners and visitors
gathering to celebrate Mass or any other respective church function. Ushers
assist with seating people, providing for special needs, taking up the
collection, maintaining order in the church, providing information, and
assisting with emergencies that may occur. Ushers also serve as the last
person to bid farewell to the parishioners and visitors and hand out the
weekly bulletin as they leave the
church.
The Usher Ministry is
managed by Harry Fahrer and presently has a membership of 38 men and women which
includes substitutes. Approximately one and a half hours a week are required, of
which one hour accounts for attending mass.
Meetings to gather input and provide feedback are scheduled twice each year. All
parishioners are welcome.
