The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge
But fools despite wisdom and discipline.
Proverbs
Knowledge is good, but a vast difference stands between "knowledge--having the facts--, and wisdom--applying those facts to life. We may amass knowledge, but without wisdom, our knowledge is useless.
When God told Solomon that he would give him anything that he wanted, Solomon asked for a discerning heart, in other words, wisdom. We can ask God for wisdom also. The main reason would be so that we live our lives according to God's law and attain salvation. We could also ask God for wisdom and courage to do HIS work through us.
We, as Christians, have the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the written word of God. May we seek and obtain wisdom, and use it to the best of our abilities to serve the Lord.
May the "Joy of the Lord" be always in our hearts.
